Facial Rejuvenation Q&A
What is facial rejuvenation?
Facial rejuvenation uses cosmetic surgery to change the structural elements of your face. Dr. Li may use her experience and innovative surgical techniques to:
• Tighten the skin of the neck
• Define your cheekbones
• Strengthen the look of your jawline
• Brighten your eyes
Talk to Dr. Li about your facial concerns and aesthetic goals. She can develop a plan that helps you visualize and achieve the look you want.
What types of procedures are included in facial rejuvenation?
A variety of strategies, including fat grafts and fillers help Dr. Li create these positive changes in your look. The following procedures may be part of your facial rejuvenation plan:
Eyelid lift
The eyes are one of the prime focal points of the face and with aging, a person can look tired and puffy. An eyelid lift (“blepharoplasty”) can rejuvenate the eyes making them brighter and more lively. The procedure removes excess fat and skin to restore the youthful harmonies of the face.
Nose refinement
When a nose is not in harmony with the rest of the face, a nose refinement (“rhinoplasty”) can be performed to redefine the profile and shape of the nose.
Face-lift
As each person is unique, every surgery must be customized to the individual patient in order to address and improve the areas of the face that reveal the signs of aging. By tightening the deeper structures that support the face and restoring youthful contours, a well-rested and vibrant look is returned.
Liposuction of Chin
Definition of the jawline is a sign of youth. Liposuction of the chin can restore or even create a contour that has been lost or never was there. Done using the tumescent technique, this procedure may be performed under general or local/awake anesthesia.
What is recovery like after facial rejuvenation?
Your recovery depends on the extent of your surgery. People recover relatively quickly from eyelid surgery. In about 7-10 days, you can expect to go back to many regular activities, with full healing occurring within a month.
Nose surgery or a face-lift require longer periods of recovery. It may take 2-4 weeks before you’re ready to assume regular activities and even longer for all swelling and tightness to resolve.
Dr. Li gives you comprehensive instructions to follow after your surgery and lets you know what to expect.
