Body Refinement
Our body refinement procedures include:
- Abdominoplasty (“tummy tuck”)
- Liposuction
- Fat Transfer
- Brachioplasty
- Thigh Lift
Plastic surgery is never a quick or easy decision to make; therefore we are always available to answer questions that you may have. We will even give you answers to questions that you may not have thought about.
Abdominoplasty (“tummy tuck”)
With pregnancy, weight loss, or simple aging, the tone of the abdomen is lost beyond the reaches of exercise and diet. With a “tummy tuck”, the abdominal wall is internally tightened and the excess skin is removed to reveal a taut and shapely contour. See Photos
Liposuction
The most requested procedure by patients, this procedure allows for the selective removal of undesirable fat. Suction lipectomy may be applied to virtually any part of the body, thus allowing a new person to be sculpted from the old. With the latest techniques in fat removal, patients can rapidly appreciate their newly sculpted self with minimal discomfort and recovery time.
Fat Transfer
As we age we lose the fullness in our cheeks resulting in loss of volume. This translates into more prominent smile lines, hollowing, and jowling. Fat transfer restores facial volume giving a fuller and more youthful appearance.
Arm Lift / Brachioplasty
When a patient has lost a tremendous amount of weight, often the upper arms develop excess loose hanging skin. A “tummy tuck” of the arms, removing the excess skin creating a slim silhouette reflecting their new thin self.
Thigh Lift
Massive weight loss results in a new trim figure, but often the skin overlying the thighs is saggy. A thigh lift trims off the excess skin, tightening and lifting the legs.
Body Refinement Q&A
Who is a good candidate for body refinement?
Dr. Li determines if you’re a good candidate for a specific body refinement procedure during your consultation.
The best candidates for liposuction, specifically, should have good elasticity in their skin so the tissue conforms to new contours. If you have notable laxity, the team may recommend additional skin-tightening procedures to help you get the results you want.
At your consultation, Dr. Li discusses your goals, expectations, and medical history. You also receive complete information about the body refinement procedures available during your consultation, including what you can expect before, during, and after specific procedures.
What should I expect during recovery from body refinement procedures?
Recovery after a body refinement procedure depends on your health, your body, and the type of surgery, but expect to take at least two weeks off work during your recovery for most procedures.
Dr. Li also provides you with activity and lifting restrictions, which may alter the time frame for your return to work.
Liposuction may require less downtime. After liposuction, you may have some swelling, bruising, and tenderness in treated areas.
Pain medication helps alleviate discomfort as you heal. It’s recommended you don’t engage in any strenuous activity, lifting, or bending until after you’ve been cleared at a follow-up appointment.
Every person heals differently, so listen to your body and Dr. Li’s instructions when it comes to returning to normal activity levels.
Diet and exercise aren’t always effective at giving you a toned physique. To see what body refine procedures are right for you, call the office of Linda Li, MD, or use the online booking feature to schedule your consultation.
